The time has come to make hay while the sun shines.
The time has come to blur the property lines.
We've had it short, we've seen it trimmed, we've had it cut to the quick.
But now there'll be some changes made, we're going to see a brand new trick.

(Don't mow your lawn)
Cancel that lawn service.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Let your lawn do its natural thing.
(Don't mow your lawn)
You can sow it, just don't mow it.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Blur those property lines.
(Don't mow your lawn)
When the mowing is over, you'll be rolling in clover.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Set your lawn boy free.
(Don't mow your lawn)
What you need is to go to seed,
(Don't mow your lawn)
and make some wine from the dandelion.

(Don't mow your lawn)
You can think of something better to do.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Don't waste gas on grass.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Chem grow has got to go.
(Don't mow your lawn)
No mow. no mow.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Don't water it either.
(Don't mow your lawn)
If you get a drought, let it hang out.
(Don't mow your lawn)
If it turns to hay, it's better that way.
(Don't mow your lawn)
And it you don't have a lawn, let your hair grow long.

(Don't mow your lawn)
You know, I used to mow my lawn. Everything was neat, it was clipped, it was green. I had an automatically-timed, electronically-controlled, underground sprinkler system sensitized to the weather and guaranteed to kick in extra heavy during periods of drought. And a shiny custom candy apple red four hundred horsepower John Deere tractor with rake attachment and rototiller option. Everything was laid out in neat geometric shapes. The round was round, the square was perfectly square, there was nothing in that lawn that I didn't put there.

But one day I looked at it all
And it kinda looked too much like a shopping mall.
It didn't look real, it had no feel.
It was a little too neat, a little too square,
A little too trimmed, a little too bare,
And a little too BORING. (Boring!)
Something was missing, something was wrong.
It was too clean, it was too green.
There was no FUNK in my lawn.
And I said "no mow, let it grow"!

Now my lawn is a many splendored thing.
Butterflies, bees, wildflowers, trees.
And all that stuff that makes you sneeze!
I got sticks, I got ticks,
I got grime, I got thyme,
And I don't have to listen to that lawnmower whine,
And what's more I feel so fine.
So give it up, kick back, don't you know there's a whole world out there.
You don't have to mow.

(Don't mow your lawn)
We've had enough of that astroturf stuff,
(Don't mow your lawn)
Let it grow, let it breathe,
(Don't mow your lawn)
Let the grass be greener on the other side,
(Don't mow your lawn)
Lose that tractor baby,
(Don't mow your lawn)
The world is not a sod farm,
(Don't mow your lawn)
The world is not a putting green,
(Don't mow your lawn)
I don't mean slow mow, I'm talking no mow.
(Don't mow your lawn)
Go wild!
(Don't mow your lawn)
Don't mow it, one mo time!

Don't mow your lawn no mo.
Don't mow your lawn no mo.
Don't mow your lawn no mo.
Don't mow your lawn no mo.

Don't mow no mo.
